Smallest degree should satisfy condition, right? So f(x) can be x2+ax3+bx4+........... ,can't it?
The smaller area enclosed by y=f(x),where f(x) is a polynomial of least degree satisfying and the circle x2+y2=2 above the x-axis is

it is almost written that f(x)=x^2
basically it is f(x)=x^2+x^3(g(x))
smallest power means f(x)=x^2
now this should be pretty obvious?
