CAN ANY BODY DO A PROBABILITY.,.,.PLEASE./.. A INFINITE PLANE WITH LINES PARALLELY PLACED AT A SEPARATION OF 2a EACH.,.,.A NEEDLE OF LENGTH OF LENGTH 2l.IS THROWN AT RANDOM IN THE PLANE.,.,FIND THE PROBABILITY.,.,OF THE NEEDLE TO HIT THE GROUND..(a<DASGUPTA..last one)

OYE mani thik se dekh : PUT x = 0.1 and u will understaand

For the first one take for x>0 and same will be for x<0 as it is even fn...

Then it will be much simpler( remove one xtra | |)

y=±|2x+2|

This is a straight line modification...

draw y=2x+2 for x>0

and then reflect the entire graph over y axis.....
then similarly draw y=-(2x+2) on same graph.....

I think this much is more than enough and no need for the sketch....

Yes the -ve part in q.4

Question 1 by eureka..

I am sure that question is

|y| = ||x|2-3|x|-2|

(sky...) hey check the -ve x axis side of the the graph 4

i think there are issues there!

this is for q.no. 1..

skygirl ·

this one is for q.no. 4...
plz check the graph..... correct me ,,, if wrong...

good work priyam..

btw the hide feature is not for everything :)

it is for the places where ur giving the answer could affect the thinking ability of people :)

Like in the quesiton of the day..

or if there is some puzzle where the answer could take away all the thinking behind it :)

now for 4 first draw elementary fnctns... e|x| and e-x and do the transformations....

If u say I'll post the sketches of few but u should try after this much hint.....

Similar treatments for question 3 as in Q.2.........

33
Abhishek Priyam ·

for second....

0<y<pi

then convert it to

4-x2=cot(y)

Now x2=4-cot(y)

draw x=cot(y) (Remember u are drawing x as a fn of y)
then reflect it by y axis to get -cot(y)

add 4 to it (graph shifts to 4 units right
then see the nature of y=x and y=√x

so just take root of curve and of course x=±( )

also remember the condition on y........ i.e. 0<y<pi
