The area bounded by the curves y = sin-1 |sin x| and y = (sin-1 |sin x|)2 , x \epsilon [0 , 2\pi] is:

since x ε ( 0 , 2π) so |sinx| will be always positive ..so the first curve is y = x and the second is y = x2 ..so common area will be 1/6..

correct me if i am wrong..

but according to soln given in book..

area is 4/3 + (pie)2 (2(pie) - 3)/6

Hint: this will be 4 times the integral fo the function from 0 to pi/2

Which will require the area under x-x2 between 0 to pi/2

x2/2-x3/3

Now can you finish this off.. This solution is still prone to mistakes which i have not addressed.. See that you dont make a mistake ;) [3]
