vmc workshop doubts

P(x,y) is a point which moves in the x-y plane such that 2[y] = 3[x] , where [.] denotes GIF & -2<= x <=5 ; -3 <= y <= 6.
The area of the region containing the point P(x,y) is equal to:

Dunno where I am making some mistake...but i am also getting Ans: 3 ..for this question..this kinda question can be solved by using graphs..i am getting three square boxes of area 1 cm2 square each..
when -1 < x < -2 ...-2 < y < -3..
0 < x < 1.....0 < y < 1..
2 < x < 3 ... 3 < y < 4..

maybe... i dont know why.. but they have done this...

2[y] = (3/2)[x] as [y] is an integer so x can vary in even regions only..

a= 4 unit.... there's graph is like this...

i could not make out any thing from their's soln...

does it mean there's some mistake in the question....

See i was discussing the same thing with subho yesterday...
wen 4 < x < 5 ...then 6 < y < 7..which is not there in the question..so looks like there is misprint in the limits given for Y in the question...
