The thermal conductivity of Iron is greater than wood
when we touch iron,it immediately conducts the heat away from our hand as it has greater thermal conductivity,as a result of which our hand feels colder.
the specific heat of firewood is higher than iron so iron releases more heat at a particular temp as compared to firewood and lowers its body temperature thereby making us feel that it is cooler to touch
