It all depends on the person and his/her aptitude !!..why do people give preference orders for that ?
1i am from nitk surahkal(mechanical)
girls generally don't prefer mechanical.
so keep mechanical in the last. chemical is a better option. and try to take some core branches so that u can apply for many companies and anyway irrespective of ur branch
u can be placed in some software company or some management copany.
regarding nits surathkal and warangal is best.
