eltric field inside mtal is zero so no lines of forces thr .....n they r perepndiculr to d surfce .....cuz chrge is at rest static chrge so else if they r nt perpendiuclr then they will hav parallel compontn n chrge will move n conditions wnt b stable

There the concept is the field lines doesnot exist in the conductor n perpendicular to the surface
