Waise, toh all 4 are possible...but i wud say b),c)....But answer is only b).

Ans should be a). Aldol in only one direction. HCHO has no alpha hydrogen to lose. Ethanal will lose the alpha hydrogen, form the nucleophile which adds to C=O of HCHO and itself. So two products possible.
But I think we would have cannizzaro side products of HCHO ..

Yeah, thts wht i thot...since the conc. of KOH aint mentioned.
