ok thank you
a thin nonconducting ring of radius R has a linear charge density f=f0cosα , where f0 is a constant , α is the azimuthal angle . find the electric field strength at the centre of the ring .
CAN sombody tell me what is the azimuthal angle ??

it is the angle of any point on the ring measured with respect to the reference point in clockwise direction

hi can you please explain what is the reference point here
it would be better if you could illustrate your answer with a diagram
please!!

If you take O as reference and take any point P on the ring
the angle OCP is azimuthal angle
