2)q(v x B)
3)E=BvLsin@.............if @=0...for L..||..to B
den .....E=0
now
1) what is the significance of the minus sign before Blv ????
2) what is the vector form of this formula..
like e.g.
Fm = Bqvsin@ or q(v x B)
3) the book says E=0 if l or v is parallel to B
if v is parallel E=0 I've understood
but how if l is parallel to B

1) EMF induced is opposite to direction of change in flux (Lenz's Law)
2) [ L v B] i.e. L.(vxB)
3) [L v B] = v.(BxL)=0 if B//L
A 10 m long wire of uniform cross section and 20 ohm resistance is used in potentiometer.
The wire is connected in series with a battery of 5 V along with an external resistance of 480 ohm. If an unknown emf E is balanced at 6 m length of wire..Calculate:
(i)Potential Gradient of potentiometer wire.
(ii)the value of unknown emf.
