figure shows 2 large uncharged metal plates kept in a uniform electric field.normal to it.the plates canb thought as to be made of 2 large sheets wid charge density σi nd -σi.now will the induced charge of second plate affect tht of first plate?? or shall we say tht field due to the two sheets of second plate on first plate wudb σ/2ε0 + (-σ)/2ε0 (INDEPENDENT OF DISTANCE) and hence cancel out nd thus hv no effect??
