i think stat 1 is incorrect bt stat 2 also seems to be not entirely correct

well asish i think both are wrong[at least at our level we should consider this word"force of attraction" as net force :) otherwise gravitation to hai hi :P]
When current flows in two wire in same direction, \vec{l} is directed perpandicular to the plane of paper outwards. \vec{F}=i(\vec{l} X \vec{B}) pplying rule of cross product we can say that they attract each other due to the vector\vec{F}.
So the answer is B since Reason is right but not correct explanation.
Is it (B) ?
C) must not be as when current flows in two wires
forces are :
attractive - same direction
repulsive - opposite direction.
Which concludes there a force between two wires
Somehow,I cant imagine the situation...
If two long parallel wires, hanging freely are connected to a battery in series, they come closer to each other
Two infinitely long parallel wires, battey divides current among them and the currents flow in same direction...hence wires attract :D
What's there not to imagine here? Imagine a battery and attach two separate wires to it...then make the wires stand next to each other so that they're parallel..:D
One little problem though...if they carry on like that, the circuit has to end somewhere for current to flow, since both wires are not attached to each other.
i know..........but i cant imagine the ques........thats why asking for fig....
anyways how did u do it in exam ??
