u₁.u₂=0
because after long time potential energy will be zero...(min possible..)

By momentum consrevation..

u1+u2=u
1/2mu²=1/2m(u₁²+u₂²)

u²=(u₁+u₂)²-2u₁u₂

u₁u₂=0
either of the two will become zero...

So only option is (a) with u₁=0
