yes the ans shud be (b).
can any one tell me. wats the ans?
An electron is at rest in a region having uniform & constant magnetic field. The magnitude of the magnetic field is suddenly doubled keeping its direction same. After the sudden change, the magnetuc field is again uniform & constant.after the magnetic becoms double...(neglect gravity)
a)The electron continues o be at rest
b)The electron starts to move alpng a straight line
c) The electron moves along a circular part.
d)The electron moves alomg a helical path..

due to E field induced..the e wll begin to move...as it acquires some vel..magnetic force will start acting.....so spiral is the answer
induced electric field.... ????????????
I can't see any time varying Mag.field !!!!
i agree wit asish's concept....
so the direction of induced emf will oppose the change ie the emf induced will make pi angle with magnetic field... and elec moves from lower 2 higher potential.... therfore it is again it makes 00 wit B.. ie it moves in straight line for short time
@wats in name: flux changes so, there is some induced emf for a fraction of time so there is some force on electron.. but since force acts for very small time it shud go in a straight path (b) ??
one doubt........
" An electron is at rest in a region .... "
Is v = 0, or electron is in equilibrium (my ans. is rite in the 2nd case.i think so).
