when u divide a negative number by an integer , take the normal case( i.e. the positive case)

hence just assume the following to be 17/3

remainder =2 .
hence ur quotient AND remainder WILL BE NEGATIVE since ur numerator is a negative number
so quotient =-5
remainder= -2

no aditya...

the answer ;is not correct... the remainder always lies between 0 and n-1

Here the answer will be -17=3*(-6)+1

so the remainder will be 1

then i dont think the quotient = the divisor X dividend + remainder.

then we could simply write it in the for -5.2/3 right?
