In the first case, the water level will remain same.
In the second one, the water level will go down.
A block of ice containing a small air bubble floats in a pond. The ice melts.Does the water level go up,down or stay the same ? Explain.
Ans the same question where the air bubble is replaced by a piece of lead.

I think the water level would fall. The piece of lead is denser than water and hence would not displace as much water to cause the water level to rise to meet the current water level.
