1. Statement1 : For a charged particle moving from point P to point Q, the net work done
by an electrostatic field on the particle is independent of the path
connecting point P to point Q.
Statement 2 : The net work done by a conservative force on an object moving along a
closed loop is zero.
(1) Statement1 is true, Statement2 is false.
(2) Statement1 is true, Statement2is true; Statement 2is the correct explanation ofStatement1
(3) Statement1 is true, Statement2 is true; Statement 2 is not the correct explanation
of Statement1
(4) Statement1 is false, Statement2 is true.

ya 2 is correct........The net work done by a conservative force on an object moving along a closed loop is zero.
so whatever be the path followed as initial and final point is same ...whatever path followed work is zero

But rocky...points P and Q are not the same, and this does not form a closed loop..

Well , draw a circle with P and Q on the circumference.

Go from P to Q via the minor arc (W.D=w) - and then return back to P by the major path. What is the net work done? 0

So W.D for bringing particle to p from Q by major arc=-w, implying, work done to bring particle to Q from P by major arc=w=w.d to bring it by minor arc to Q from P.

Thus option 2.
