well zero error.........................when d instrument is doin nothing.....that is NOT measuring............then d first division may not coincide with d actual zero.....tht is it may not start with d ZERo.........that is it may not start from d starting................so this missin stuff is either subtracted or added...........THIS IS ZERO ERROR

if zero of vernier scale does not coincide with zero of main scale when the 2 jaws and 2 edges(straight vale)touch each other ,then error called zero error.....
