1.Be(OH)2 < Mg(OH)2 < Ca(OH)2 < Sr(OH)2 < Ba(OH)2 ----------------- thermal stability trend
2. solubility increases with increase in atomic number in case of hydroxides the lattice energy decreases more rapidly than hydration energy and since we know that lattice energy shuld be less than hydration energy for solubility so
Be(OH)2 < Mg(OH)2 < Ca(OH)2 < Sr(OH)2 < Ba(OH)2 ----- solubility trend
and for carbonates, sulphates, solubility trend is exactly opposite
BeSO4>MgSO4>CaSO4>SrSO4>BaSO4
Manmay's explanation is perfect .
in fact this is kind of a exception in case of hydroxides and fluorides
there is nothing kind of exception ...(mujhe aisa lagta hain)
because for small anions like hydroxides and fluorides , effect on lattice energy is higher.......it is more sensitive than hydr.........so down the group U decreases more rapidly than hydr. .......and as U decreases solubility increases ......thats all ....[1].[1].[1]
