There are some techniques which of course one learns through practice to predict products in a reaction.
Can you post some of the reactions that you are finding difficult to predict the products in. I guess I can help you through those examples better.

@ rajiv sir, what is the right approach for starting things .shud i learn the basic reactions given in ncert abt the compounds? like h2so4 converts hbr to br2.
it involves 3 steps
KBr+H2SO4=KHSO4+HBr
H2SO4=H2O+SO2+[O]
2HBr+[O]=Br2+H2O
the first step is okay. but after that couldnt predict.
i couldnt predict these and many more like these.
actually sir i m unable to strike the right balance betn how much to learn abd how much to try to predict .pls specify the right approach,sir
