This is why iodine becomes soluble in water when iodide ions are added
Q3. AlCl3 exists as a covalent dimer
AlF3 is ionic because the anion is smaller and has more charge density, so it is least polarizable hence ionic
While Cl is comparatively larger, and hence more polarizable than F so AlCl3 is less ionic (it is covalent)
