Always take care of not doing the following!

1) F=μR

2) Drawing FBD with small arrows (showing forces)

3) Not canceling out the original forces when taking components

Who takes the trouble of typing more letters
when not needed....
by the way u r right.

i think : we should never take the equality sign in friction questions ...

that will lead to a confusion whether anything that we are getting is maximum or minimum..

here its told 'maximum' so ok....

but this is not always the case...

i have added the last equation Tapan;
solving those gives max dis. A=0.2m.

as already solved by the girl from sky....:)

hmm may be :)

same method i must hav made a stupid calculation mistake

of course it is 0.2 .

all might have got the FBD ..

horizontal : Tcosθ = f ------1

vertical : Tsinθ + N = Mg -------2

f ≤ μN => Tcosθ ≤ (Mg - Tsinθ)

=> T ≤ μMg/ (cosθ + μsinθ) --------3

Tcosθ = kx -------- 4

from 3 and 4 ,

x ≤ (...u can get it... :P )

is the ans 0.25m

SEE ABOVE

theta=x
Tsinx+N=Mg;
Tcosx=uN;
kA=Tcosx;

AM I CORRECT??

K
i think i got it.....

u told dog moved 0.25m
then max. force the spring can provide is 400*0.25=100N
THEN how could tension b more than 100N

11
Subash ·

friction directed rightwards

Tension i think is equal to 125N

1
mkagenius ·

subhash ,,,,
can u tell what will b the value of tension in the string ??
and d direction of friction?

11
Subash ·

why is this in inorganic section
