Use MOT .. if it has paired electrons then diamagnetic and unpaired electron then paramagnetic ..
In KO2 it is basically K+ and O22- .. Now O22- is paramagnetic from MOT so KO2 is paramagnetic

what if both cationic and anionic parts are paramegnetic???????

obviously for ionic compound if one of the ions is paramagnetic then both are paramagnetic as well naa? otherwise how will there be unpaired electrons?
