if yes..then surely read my reply
its a normal thing to prepare fresh reagents before any reaction particularly analysis of salt so that reagents are in pure state and havent reacted ealrier with any compounf or even air which are termed as impurities

the main reason that they use freshly prepared ferrous sulphate is that
if it is an old one,,there are chances that it has got oxidised to ferric sulphate..then the brown ring wont form,,
cause the complex [Fe(H2O)5NO]SO4 wont form then.
