There is a thin uniform hemi- .. bowl of mass m and rad R is lying on a smooth smooth horizont surf..F is applied perpendicular to the rim...The inst angular accl of the bowl??

i think d force must be in tangential direction

i dont think so... it was given lyk dis... There will b torque due to forceas COM is somewhere witin d body...

k is given in last line(dat was common in all d ans so i used dat notation)

COM of thin hemispherical shell = R/2
=> torque about COM = (R/2) x F

Moment of inertia of hemisphere about axis through COM and parallel to surface = MR2/5 (not too sure...did it in a hurry)

So, FR/2 = MR2/5 α
