u wanna one more eqn,it was hard for me to find dat one.it is the forces along the rod is zero.

try energy conservation guys .. with theta as the variable dependent on time ... find the change the potential in its terms and the total kinetic energy (includeing rotational ) .. if you dont get it still then .. poke me for the answer
