Two uniform solid spheres of equal radii R, but mass M and 4M have a centre seperation 6R.The two spheres are held fixed.A projectile of mass m is projected from the surface of the sphere of mass M directly towards the centre of the second sphere with the velocity v.
1.The projectile is launched with minimum speed v1 such that it reaches the surface of the second sphere.Then speed on the surface of the second surface
a. >v
b. <b
c. = v
d. 0
2.The value of V1 is??/
3. If the projectile lands on the surface of the sphere with speed v, then
a.v=3 v1
b.v= 5/3 v1
c.v=3/5 v1
d.v=3(3/5GM/R)1/2

in these questions conserve teh energy and angular momentum.....[1][1]
Hint: find the point between the 2 spheres where the gravitational field=0...the minimum V shud be such that the particle shud just reach this point coz if it does, then it wud be sucked in to the 2nd sphere, by the infleuence of the field itself...
