A barometer having metallic scale reads height H_Î¸ at temp Î¸Â°C.If the scale is callibrated at temp 0Â°C and Î± is coeff of linear exp and Î³ is coeff of cubical exp. then calculate value of correct height.

Increase in height due to expansion must be subtracted from H_Î¸ for correct height. If H_o is the height at 0Â°C, then,

Î”H = H_oÎ±Î¸

Thus
correct height= H_Î¸-Î”H
