In the figure mass m1=i kg and m2 = 4 kg. Find the mass M of the hanging block which will prevent the smaller block from slipping over the triangular block. All the surfaces are frictionless and the strings and the pulleys are light.

The diagram is correct. It's a D.C Pandey question.

the pseudo force on m1 should balance m1gsin30.
m1acos30=m1gsin30
......a=gtan30......(1)

now,Mg-T=Ma.....(2)

T-(m1+m2)g=(m1+m2)a.......(3)
solve the eqns.......

I think the ans is Approx.6.85kg
