Projectile problem

A particle is projected vertically with velocity v0.Wind is blowing and providing constant horizontal accelaration a0.If the particle strikes the wall perpendicularly, find the distance between the wall and the point of projection.Ans given is a0v0/2g but am getting a0v02/2g2.What's the right answer???

v0/g is the time when the velocity of the ball in the vertical direction is zero...

So by this time, the particle;s sidtance travelled is

1/2 a0 t2 = 1/2 a0 (v0/g)2

Check dimensionally your answer seems to be that of time!

and the answer given is that of velocity.. so both of them seem to be wrong to me

2nd answers rite

first it will only strike perpendicualarly only when its vertical component of vel is 0

so t=v/g

therefore distanc emoved is 1/2a(v/g)^2
