@sankara actually it was based on instinct good that you asked what you did
lets wait for someone else to explain that part
The disc of the radius R is confined to roll without slipping at A and B.
If the plates have the velocities shown,determine the angular velocity of the dics

i think asish's method is best.....no need of calculation of relative velocity
hey sankara i have a doubt in the calculation of relative velocity
Let the velocity of the centre on mass of the disc be v2 and the angular velocity of the disc be w(clockwise).
Now as the disc is in pure rolling at both points so, the relative velocity at both points of contact should be zero.
i.e. v2 + wr = -v ......(i)
v2 - wr = 2v .......(ii)
Solving them we get,
2v2 = v i.e.
v2 = v/2
So, w = -3v/2r i.e.
w = 3v/2r in anticlockwise direction
nothing of good use sankara its all about her deleting her faulty posts
sky and philip can u translate wat u have posted in ur last post in english
[3][3] btw plz explain what i did you know i can't get it myself [11]
arey! main rep kar rahi hun toh dekh rahi hun question karne wala delete ho giya :P :P :P
can u explain more for taking the condition is equivalen to only one plate moving with V= 3v
i think the answer will be 3v/2R
see the following condition is equivalen to only one plate moving with V= 3v
w= V/R
or Vcm/Rcm as Vcm = 3v/2 ; w =same as above
as both the plates are moving we should consider relative velocity
wat is the reason for finding the relative velocity abhirup after then wat we want to do?please post ur soln abirup.
