Ans given is B
So is the qs wrong? ?
1) In the figure shown, the heavy cylinder ( radius R ) resting on a smooth surface separates
two liquids of densities 2p and 3p. The height 'h' for the equilibrium of cylinder must be
A) 3 R/2 B) R √3/2
C) R√2 D) None
I dont know if the question is correct or this is intentional..
The problem is that if the upthrust is together equal to mg.... Then the then the force to the right will be 3/2 times the force to the left...
So there will be no h for which the force will be equal both horizontally and vertically..
A better question would have been one side has height R filled with one liquid, while the other side's H needs to be found.
