Neither the question nor the answer is wrong. Even your approach isn't wrong. Look properly the answer at the back is 25 N only!
well theres this question...in which i find that theres a small language error...kindly help
HC VERMA
PART ONE
CHAPTER 12
EXERCISES Q 11
A block of mass 0.5 kg hanging from a vertical spring executes simple harmonic motion of amplitude 0.1 m and time period 0.314 s. Find the maximum force exerted BY THE SPRING on the block......
When i calculate the max force by the SPRING...it comes out to be 20 Newton...and for net max force...we obv have to add the weight too (mg = 0.5 X 10 = 5 N)....
answer is given to be 25 N....so either the question has a mistake or the answer....pls temme if m wrong....
thanx in advance

Although even the solution for this question in pdf above are wrong!
for simplifying your doubt its better if you don't forget that spring would balance the weight of the block too along with the force of SHM so the solution is correct dont bother saying it wrong
