481Haan 1/3 towards right.....
Let A be at the origin.....then COM of the whole system=
40*0+50*2+60*4+90*2/240 =520/240
Now after interchanging the position of A and C,let the plank move by x
60*x+50*(2+x)+90(2+x)+40*(4+x)/240=520/240
From above we get x=+1/3i.e towards r8

- Akash Anand If plank would be fixed then you can't say anything about the position because there will some external force on the system (plank+ABC) due ti fixation. Then COM Can or can't move, we can't say anything as such.
