uniform ladder.........

A uniform ladder of mass 10 kg leans against a smooth vertical wall making an angle of 53° with it. The other end rests on a rough horizontal floor. Find the normal force and the frictional force that the floor exerts on the ladder.

It is clear that

N1=f and

N2=W

.............
but after that its given N1(AO) = W(CB)

I guess it is related to torque.

since the body is also in rotational equilibrium , they hav used

\sum{\tau }= I \alpha = 0

nothing else ,

and if u hav such doubts like u couldnt understand just 1 line , then pls dont ask to solve full ques [1]

There is no rule in the sense that here we have equilibrium.. then net force and torque are zero..

otherwise there will be linear or angular acceleration...

no not that............i dont know when to take the torque with +ve and -ve sign ??

i feel that we consider either of clock wise or anticlockwise as positive and then the other directon gives negative sign......[1][1]
