You can approach in two ways. Either you take upper part till C of the string or lower part of the string from C. Then you have to make the length constant of that part, same like the constraint relation.

because if we pull the upper free end by a distance x,
the lower one(attached to the block) should move left by a distance x) and the one of the left( whose vel. you've written as v1) should move rightwared by (x/2) ?

Sourish Ghosh Sir can you check if the answer is 1m/s to the right?- Akash Anand For the given question V1 is not given. If it would be 1.5m/s towards right then your answer would be correct
