consider following statement:

in position[say position 1],the spring constant k is undeformed.

wat information do we get from above statement?

in my opinion, spring constant is undeformed means that spring retains its linear shape...
it also makes it clear that while solving the question u should neglect internal dempening effects which may effect the spring constatn in any way.....

btw the variation of spring constatn is discussed only at higher level of studies,..so i have no idea from where u got this doubt..[1]
