ball B covers the greater distance (parabola)
for ball A T=2Ï€/4√1/g
for ball B T=√2/g
ball B covers the greater distance (parabola)
for ball A T=2Ï€/4√1/g
for ball B T=√2/g
Hint/ confusion/ Question: what about collision between the balls?
collision is elastic and the balls are identical,so velocities gets interchanged.
the vertical acceleration of B will always be g
so i am getting its time as 1/2 sec approx....
i think ball A should be in motion for a greater time as the thread exerts a upward force on it which should reduce it's verical accelaration(<g) and thus it will take longer time
and since it is an elastic collision and the balls have same mass the velocities will interchange and ball B distance=2m
and pendulum will cover a quater of circle i.e 2Ï€(1)/4 =1.73
therefore B will cover a longer path
A is in motion for longer time..due to tension force present which retards it a bit
and B travels a larger distance
