work done by statci friction

as we know static friction does work but i hv some doubts which i hope will be resolved

1) is the work done by friction in pure rolling 0 as the pnt of contact has no relative velocity

2) the work done by staric friction has some magnitude only when .... the pnt of application has some relative velocity

isnt it pls verify my doubts

yes, all is perfect only if you are watching the action of frictional force from some inertial reference frame !

2)This is wat i know Static friction is friction between two solid objects that are not moving relative to each other. So i think workdone by static friction is zero.

yess....but in (1) if u leave a sphere on an inclined plane wich has sufficient friction ....then of course it will hav pure rolling .....but
(a) translational work done by friction will be zero
(b) rotational work will be done by friction

qwerty friction should not do any work. even torque due to friction will act instantaneously and the point loses contact .
as ideally only a point is in contact.

see let me get this clear xyz

work done by friction on the pnt of contact will be 0 as the torque is 0 at this ptn and it does not have any transational motion
