WORK=KAAM :P:D...try this out..............;)

when the block moves on the horizontal block then work done against friction is W3...

now when the block is moving on the left inclined plane, work done against friction is W1....similarly when it moves on the right inclined plane work done against friction is W2

coefficient of friction for the 3 surfaces is same and equal to μ.

the angle of inclination of left incline is α with the horizontal and the other one is β with vertical....[1]

then,

A) W3>W1+W2
B) W3<W1+W2
C) W3=W1+W2
D) none of this........

similar to above problem....

a block, when it moves down the inclined plane it does work W1 against friction..and when it moves on horizontal surface it does work W2 against friction...

then W1 and W2 are >, < or =?????????

same W1=W2

in Q2 W1=W2 only if the distance moved by block on horizontal surface is same as the as the base length of inclined plane.

if not so then W1 may be > or < then W2 that depends on the extent of move

well going per the diagram, it is understood that the two mentioned distanced are the same

actually the horizontal distance travelled is same....[1][1]
