Yeah i know out of those 4.72 lacs , 4.65 will ask for a re-xam .
You don't know what goes over the minds of these 5000 students who performed well despite all of these difficulies. Freshers may find themselves unlucky but it's a matter of LIFE and DEATH for droppers .
It only easy to say "If you have performed well before then why not in the re-exam ?" But it's a matter of how much in-form you are. Studying about 14hrs a day continuosly for 5-6 months can never be sensed in one or two months . We will never be able to give our best again as w did on 11th april .
It's just these 5000 students that have made IIT's to say no to a re-exam. Except a few , for majority it will be like a third attempt.

I have initiated the process. I need more people so that we can present a strong case. Many of us are scared. Lets not be scared and fight for what we want. Tomorrow, if The gentleman Mr. NATARAJAN says that since no protests from students were heard, and he ll go ahead with the schedule, then none of us should be sorry to know that we could have made a difference.
I am sincerely requesting u prople to mail me your contact details to my mail id so that we can start the process together.

@RAJATJAIN #11- Even if the iit directors somehow bring out a solution to the physics maths omr issue, will they be able to rectify their blunders in the hindi question paper . i dont think there is any other way except giving them some xtra marks (but that wont be acceptable to other students) .

Here is what IIt directors had replied to Mr. Kapil Sibal
The IIT directors reportedly told him that many students don’t read the instructions and so would not have suffered because of the misleading instructions. Sibal, sources said, shot down the argument. “I have also appeared for many examinations and always studied the instructions,†the minister is understood to have told the IIT bosses.

Most of us are disappointed in JEE.
We should try to fix this. Lets file a PIL each. It wouldnt cost you much say 1.50 INR per page of the petition. and now its easy as it can be done online + u dont need any advocate on record.
Just goto this website and e-filing
http://supremecourtofindia.nic.in/
And please do mention all the discrepancies in the paper.
I am providing a list. You may add to it.
1. OMR Subject heading
2. Some questions out of syllabus specified on brochure(some people would say it was for all the candidates. But what is the fault of those who strictly studied according to syllabus)
3. Questions lengthy and tough, tested mugging ability (some sort of MSc. Exam type)
4. Most Important- No space for rough work
5. Unclear Instructions regarding partial marking pattern
6. No timely instructions given on how to attempt paper: question number wise or subject heading wise
7. Hindi format had printing errors

If you think you lost your time because of the OMR head change . Doesn't this mean for those who r still way above the cutoff ?
If not then why have you been claiming a re-exam exploiting "Subject head change error" . You have to accept failure over those who ,even after losing 15 mins, are in the competition.

Main problem is for the Hindi med. students . One question wasn't printed -( Wasn't this a time benefit ? Huh you never thought of this na .........) . This is never a big problem . They can consider aggregate performance or consider another question of same difficulty given in the same paper for marking .
The only interesting thing is to know that matrix match marking problem . And i bet the solution to this problem will be somewhere around giving a few extra marks to those hindi medium students .
If you're not a hindi med. candidate , then youv'e got no right to protest ! ! Tell me are you ? Who knows? Why won't you lie ?
If you can go to the courts then why not us against a re-exam(if it's there ).
I know there will be no re-xam . Best of luck for your results .

One more thing , about Prof. Rajeev Kumar ................. God curse him .........Damn big su*kerrr .
How in the world had he thought that a candidate can 93 marks by bubbling all the answers ? Are those IIT's mad ?
He could have find no better day to gain publicity coz these matrix match and multiple choice questions are being asked since years .
And i wonder and question you for being english med. student if you thought the partial marking instructions mislead or it just seemed incomplete ! I question your commom sense !

@jabbu
what will u say about the exam
if your math is perfect than physics than chemistry...
math>physics>chemistry
i think the students which has his math and physics perfect have a good brain
but if u have chemistry>physics>math then u must not have good brain
but the paper was according to chemistry>physics>math

Re-exam is highly unlikely...It will cost a huge amount for the IITs to conduct JEE again...and the academic year will be delayed..

lets get above our personal thoughts....n stop making predictions
TIME TO TAKE SOME ACTION n NOT TO TALK N DISCUSS
@sridhar,,,,
if u don step up n question them......yeah it will become unlikely as u r giving them a chance to escape
if u step up n CHECK them it is definitely LIKELY
@jabbu
stop being narrow minded.....!!

ur thought is seeming spot on!!

I am still thinking what will they do so that "no student’s score is affected by the errors."
and I can't find a foolproof way out... either way there will be the problem that some will benefit and some will suffer.
Moreover I know of students who keep on filling the ors at regular intervals so even if the announcement was made 10 - 15 minutes later there could be a problem....
but frankly i dont see a reason why any student who spotted the error will start filling the ors in his own decided way before some announcement is made by the invigilators.

its financially impossible [1]

·2010-04-29 01:58:33
no RPF , financially it is possible ,
wat do u think why do they take 1000 Rs per form ???
just think how do they maintain the IITs
there is about 50 % profit to the IITS on each form
per candidate:
25 Rs. for all papers
25 Rs. for printing those papers
200 Rs. Rent to be given to the centre
25 Rs. as transportation cost
200 Rs. for brochure
consider Rs.25 extra as a margin of error
so total = Rs 500
so per form u get Rs.500
total profit= 4,72,000 x 500 = Rs.23,60,00,000
though i m not concerned about re-exam and all now , but i dont want others to be in the wrong impression
