How is -OH more activating than -OR in benzene ring although R increases electron density on Oxygen increasing its efficiency to increase electron density in ring?

The possiblity of the formation of O- in case of -OH is greater than in case of -OR . as O- releases electrons better than - OH or -OR where lp is used for donation , but here the bp is used . so Oxygen doesn't get any +ve charge on daontion which makes it much more stable than release of electron with H or R present on it , when it acquires +ve charge .
