In alkynes, the Carbon atom is sp hybridised, whereas in alkenes it is sp2 hybridised. Thats why inalkynes the bond pair is strongly attracted by C atom, owing to its higher electronegativeity. Hence they are not easily available for electrophiles

alkenes and alkynes undergo addition reaction,so for that a intermediate state of carbocation is formed ,in case of alkyne ( -CH=CH+ )is formed which is very unstable while in case of alkenes it is stable .
thats why alkynes r less reactive than alkenes
