answer for the second is a and d ... bcoz the primary hydrogen or the secondary hydrogen can be replaced that will give you two isomers..
and for the first question i think a and b both r right.
no for first question (b) is wrong....
I think what they mean is that it can be separated into two compounds each one of which will be optically active.....like 'd' and 'l' form and not break the molecule into two different molecule....
