first of all remember that KOH is ionic and it is used as a reagant in the organic reactions
there is no point in confusion
chemistry is a wonderful pack of facts and fundamentals
and according to me its a fundamental

KOH dissociates to K+ and OH- easily.

and,

OH- is a good nucleophile. [am not sure wid the reason... but thot it shud be so]

BUT ST NUCLEOPHILE CAN DO SN1 ALSO

polar protic medium (water) facilitates the sn2 substitution !

isnt sn2 fav by aprotic non polar med .........???????????????????? cuz the nucleophile is more stabilized than the intermediate in such cases and thus Ea increases ????????

where am i going rong????????????:(((((((((((

and in polar solvents i think OH- becomes pretty weak as its demobilised by H bonding .......

i kno i suck at this .... pls tell me where im goin rong........
