rickde I think this bond order waala ques came in IIT 2008 paper...saw it somewhere.
other exceptions not necessary...........i dont think iit going to ask this even.
ok..so Q1 wrong naa ????confirmed ??
and for MOT..plz tell other exceptions
Avik Q1 is wrong...the last reaction is supposed to be bleach powder prep reaction and it releases NH3 as gas(Q)...absurd na? lola
@eure..use ariel or comic sans or algerian
dont use papyrus...looks gud but hard to read when small

yep it is
that is cos the 2s antibonding has highest energy....so e goes from antibonding giving 3.5 bond order
That CO thing is an exception..actually MOT has some exceptions for heteronuclear compounds..so in this case wen the experimentally deteremined bond length came out to be less..so it is believed that CO+ has bond order 3.5 and the electron is removed from the anti-bonding orbital...
3.Bond order of CO+>CO
and B.O is inversely proportional to bond length
ya..i used for first time.....and am sorry to alll......but cant help it out now.....i cant wrote the whole thing again......plz magnify and read
sorry again
