there is a small typo out here: There are no alkenes
The double bond CH2 is actually keton.. not alkene.. it was a misdrawing!

answer of OsO4 and HIO4 should be B
OsO4 introduse 2 -OH in double bond and HIO4 breaks b/w two adjacent -OH
