m-chloro perbenzoic acid is ideal for epoxidation.

i think its Perchlorobezoic acid for shrpless epoxidation and hydrogen peroxide for asymmetric epoxidation.

mCPBA(m-chloro perbenzoic acid) is weakly peroxyacid, and soluble in solvents such as CH₂Cl₂. Therefore, preferred to make epoxides or Oxiranes. If you will use peroxide (or peracid), the epoxide bond will cleave and it will result in formation of Glycol.
