@mathie there is no chance of forming cyclo hexane i think in ur posted mechanism instead of h2o h2 should be formed

pehle oh nikhal jaata along with H of nah as water. there na gets in. now in second step, na will go alongwith br of etbr as nabr and et will take its place.
