it was given dat sodium phenoxide will be the product.

well the explanation would be this I think , the SO3H bond is weaker .comparatively . w.k.t'
[we know this :P not we know that .I've put t'] coz sulphonation is reversible. at such high temp , SE reactions are not possible . so SN is the only way out. where OH- substitutes SO3H . then this is neutralised by NaOH.
